I came across a website that has a list of ski mountains that have gone out of business. New York actually has the most dead ski areas in the country, and I was curious to see what remained of these fallen resorts. I wanted to capture the emptiness and lifelessness of these once functional ski areas while trying to imagine what these places were like while they were up and running. I scratched some of the negatives as a way to draw attention to certain aspects of the mountain that characterized their current state of being.
